02 — Tournament
M25 Slovenj Gradec is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour — the entry level of professional tennis, where players earn their first world ranking points.

Seven days of competition on clay. The main draw features 32 players, qualifying 64 places, plus a doubles event.
History
The club first hosted a professional ITF M15 tournament in 2024, repeated it in 2025, and moves up to M25 level in 2026.
Organiser
The club was founded on 17 July 1997 and is based at Tenis center Murko. The tournament is organised in cooperation with the Slovenian Tennis Association and the City Municipality of Slovenj Gradec.
Key milestones
The first three courts are built on land owned by the Murko family, and the tennis school begins.
The league brings together tennis enthusiasts from Slovenj Gradec and the surrounding area. The club operates informally — and takes its name from this year.
Tenis klub ’96 Slovenj Gradec is founded by 14 tennis enthusiasts. The first president is Darko Črešnik; among the driving forces is Vinko Hajtnik Murko – Cic.
The first major step towards systematic work with young competitive players. With a hall holding two indoor courts, the centre gains the conditions for year-round training and competition in any weather.
The club stages a professional world tour tournament two years running.

The entry list is updated after every ITF release. Seeds are determined by the world ranking on the entry deadline.

32 players, eight seeds and four wild cards. Ten Slovenians; Mili Poljicak is the top seed. Nine places are open for qualifiers and a lucky loser.

Ten Slovenians are in the main draw. The highest ranked is Filip Jeff Planinšek, the sixth seed. Four entered on a wild card. Mikovic, Kovac and Premzl are still in the final qualifying round.

The venue is five minutes by car from central Slovenj Gradec. All matches, including the final, are free with no tickets or reservations required.

07 — Tenis klub ’96 Slovenj Gradec
The club is a central force in the development of tennis in Slovenj Gradec and Slovenian Carinthia. It brings together children, competitive players, recreational players and veterans, providing professional coaching for all age groups and levels.
From age 5
The programme starts with a tennis kindergarten and continues with regular group training. TK ’96 was the first club in Slovenian Carinthia to work systematically with young players.

Tenis center Murko
Home of the club and one of the foundations of tennis in Slovenian Carinthia. From the first three outdoor courts it has grown into a complex that allows year-round play, training and competition.
Coaching
The coaches take part in licensing seminars regularly. In their work with children they emphasise correct technique, age-appropriate training, an individual approach and enjoyment of the sport.
